Green Close Chapel, where we have held Quiet Days for the past few years, is celebrating its 150th Anniversary on October 8th & 9th. There is an Open Day on the Saturday 10 - 12 and 2-4 with exhibition, cake stall and bring and by. A special service will be held at 2.30 pm on the Sunday. All are welcome at these events.

Mind Body and Spirit Fair Cancelled.North Star, the company which arranged the Mind Body and Spirit Fairs in the Town Hall has gone out of business, so the event in October, at which SCC was to have a stand, has been cancelled.

SCC Launches Satellites

SCC is on the edge of a new era, as we plan and organise the concept of Satellite Christian Counselling (SCC) services in some areas around our city, where statutory services are in very short supply.
Already we have three of our qualified and experienced counsellors working towards laying the foundations of three new centres in Hattersley, Gorton and Salford. In Gorton we are hoping to support and enrich the existing counselling service and in Hattersley and Salford, counselling has already commenced in these two new locations.
It is our hope that each new counselling centre will be self-sustaining within three years and will build on the tried and tested model of its founding service.

'A Bibliotherapy Seminar'

The training will be led by Sue Crookes.
Sue is a founder member of SCC and has been a Supervisor for many years.

The first hour of the Seminar will be dedicated to presenting results of her MA dissertation. A research study of the use of Bibliotherapy in counselling. This will be followed by a more general discussion about how to link findings to work in SCC.
This training is open to all counsellors, supervisors and listeners.
